BLEND: Christians Against Racism
Laredo, TX May 4-5, 2008
On May 4-5, 2008 at BLEND: Christians Against Racism, 2 Chronicles 7:13-15 took form in Laredo when it said: "When I shut up the heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if my people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Recognizing that one of the roots of the immigration crisis in our nation is racism, a Kingdom coalition blended together in Laredo, TX to contend against the spirit of racism and cry out to God for a just solution. In a beautiful spirit of unity and brotherly love, each national leader confessed and repented for the sins of racism within their people group, their family line, and even their personal lives. Hundreds of people from all races participated in these times of repentance. Many wept in the presence of the Lord and received inner healing as they opened their hearts to the work of the Holy Spirit granting forgiveness to their trespassers. With clean hands and pure hearts, we engaged in a time of intercession to tear down the spirit of racism in our nation and break the effects of its curse from the multitude of young people who came to stand in the gap for their generation.
The following morning, we awoke to the biggest rainstorm the Laredo / Nuevo Laredo area had in over two years! We knew this was a sign from the Lord--the healing of land had begun! The entire Laredo / Nuevo Laredo area was washed with the rain of heaven.
