USRPN - Report on PRAYER STRIKE Against Spirit of Buddhism
US Asian Reformation Prayer Network
Apostles Jonathan and Sharon Ngai
We are in an hour when we must stand for JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS!! In the midst of the recent elections, the protests against Prop 8, and the beginning of serious persecution – we as the Church must UNITE and not stay silent or watch the proceedings from the sidelines – we must ADVANCE THE KINGDOM in this hour!!
Last Saturday, November 15th – STRIKE LA in partnership with Reformation Prayer Network did a Prayer Strike to tear down the Spirit of buddhism at Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights – possibly the most influential buddhist temple in all of North America. This was the night after some of our friends from the Justice House of Prayer in San Francisco were physically & sexually assaulted for praying and worshipping peacefully on the streets of the Castro District:
This was also the same day that protest raged in over 300 cities across America against the passage of Proposition 8 (the defining of Marriage as between ONE MAN and ONE WOMAN) in California.
We gathered at Heights Worship Center (thanks to Pastor Jaren & Rose Lapasaran for hosting us) for a time of worship and teaching about the buddhist religion. Currently – there are up to 4 million people in the US that identify themselves as buddhists and as many as 26 million Americans claim to have been SIGNIFICANTLY INFLUENCED by buddhism or have adopted some buddhist element into their lives. As of last Saturday – buddhism WAS the fastest growing religion in the US at 3.2 percent annually (faster than even Christianity).
Our assignment from the Lord was simple – as Cindy Jacobs summarized, ”to kick this spirit out of America”.
We began with a time of identificational repentance before entering into the temple site. We had representatives from the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Filipino, Indonesian, Taiwanese, and Caucasian ethnicities repent (some in their own language) for any agreement with this spirit of buddhism in their life, in their family, in their generational line, and in their ethnicity.
We then split in groups of 2 or 3 to prayer walk the site and to tear down the strongholds of buddhism … the veil of deception, the power of their teachings, the oppression of the idolatry (in the Hsi Lai Temple alone there were over 10,000 statues). We spent an hour on-site cutting off the influence of this spirit over America in small groups and then we re-gathered together in the middle of the courtyard where a large statue of the founder Hsing Yun stood. He is the same person that started a 600 acre buddhist temple in Taiwan (possibly the largest temple in the world) and his vision was to bring the teachings of buddhism to America. The name Hsi Lai literally means “Coming West” and represents the “Great Buddha Coming West” to America. Together as a group – we BROKE OFF the power of the dream that this man had to bring this eastern religion into great influence here in the West. We doused the statue with LIVING WATER that we had prayed over (buddhists believe that the water that flows from its idols brings cleansing and purity to the mind). Lastly – we found out that one of the young people that came out on the prayer strike was born on the EXACT SAME DAY that the temple was opened in Hacienda Heights (November 26, 1988). We had her decree Joshua 24:15 over her generation, ”Choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the river, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE [GENERATION] WE WILL SERVE THE LORD”!!!!!
We felt such a POWERFUL SHIFT take place during the time we prayed. We believe that something transacted so clearly in the Spirit that we saw the manifestation of this in the natural. Before we began praying – the skies were pretty clear over the temple (see picture #1) – by the time we had finished the prayer strike – a pillar of cloud and smoke came over the entire temple site (over 150 acres) (see picture #2 & #3).
The Lord gave us Joel 2:28-32 as we marched out of there … the end of this passage says:
”I will pour out My Spirit in those days. I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth. Blood, fire, and columns of smoke. The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of the Lord. AND IT WILL COME ABOUT THAT WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED”.
I believe the Spirit of Buddhism was pushed back in America last Saturday. There will be many who are under the deception of this spirit right now who will be set free and will CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD AND WILL BE SAVED!! PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS PROMISES!!!!!!!
We need to continue to pray against the spirit of buddhism in these coming days (please continue to do this together). We want to see God completely occupy the minds and the hearts of those that have been in bondage to this influence. The Lord loves them and wants every one of them for Himself!!
Thank you so much for coming out on the STRIKE and for praying for us (those of you that were not able to make it out). WE ARE CHANGING HISTORY TOGETHER as we go!!! We look forward to seeing all of you at the next STRIKE as we continue to advance God’s Kingdom together in this critical time!!!!
Blessings!
