Pray 100 - Day 10
January 26 – Revitalizing Business and the Economy
"’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
(Jeremiah 29:11; NIV)
The United States’ economy continues to be one of the strongest in the world. However, it was shaken hard in 2007-2008 and it has not fully recovered yet—10 years later. Government statistics have been adjusted to make it appear that we have fully recovered and that the jobless rate is low, but that is not quite the truth. Many middle-aged workers were forced out of the job-market prematurely. Many young workers struggle to find any kind of meaningful employment, especially in the inner cities. American companies fled to foreign shores and America needs them back. Trade agreements have been entered into that benefit other nations over this nation. They need to be adjusted to benefit all parties without harming the domestic economy.
Points for Prayer:
Pray for a full recovery of the economy of the United States of America.
Ask the Lord for His creativity to be poured out on the people He has placed across many industries. Ask Him to give them witty inventions and ideas. Pray that the government works with business, with just enough regulation to keep the public safe, while allowing maximum economic benefit from the release of these inventions.
Pray for supernatural answers to tough economic problems, such as how to end generational poverty and how to bring American factories back to our shores, putting American workers back to work.
Intercede for trade agreements to be quickly renegotiated in such a manner that every nation is a winner. Pray that the nations of the earth become partners with one another, as opposed to one nation lording over another, or stronger nations taking on a paternalistic role with another, limiting their ability to fully mature economically.
