The Enemy is Waging War Against Our Kids
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
(Ephesians 6:12; NKJV)
On Monday morning, March 27, 2023, there was a mass shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Christian Covenant School. Six innocent people were killed, including three children, all age 9, and three adults. The shooter, 28-year-old transgender woman Audrey Elizabeth Hale, who used to attend the school, heavily armed with two AR-style weapons and a pistol shot her way "through a set of glass doors at a side entrance of the building."1 Within 15 minutes police arrived on the scene and the shooter began firing at their vehicles from the second-story window of the building. Officers made their way through the building to the second floor, where the shots were coming from, and two members of the officer team fired on the shooter, fatally wounding her. No motives have been established, however, a manifesto which belonged to the shooter was found in a nearby vehicle, confirming the attack was pre-planned and calculated.2
The enemy is waging war against our children. This tragedy reveals the many ways the enemy is attacking. We must pray for our kids and come against the spiritual attack of the enemy against their innocence, their identity, and their future!
Join us in prayer:
Pray a hedge of protection around our children:
"No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. this is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.
(Isaiah 54:17; NIV)
Pray for the light of the gospel of Christ to penetrate the darkness of this world.
"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ who is the image of God, should shine on them."
(2 Corinthians 4:4; KJV)
Pray for our schools:
"May there be peace within your walls and security within your towers!"
(Psalm 122:7; ESV)
Pray for those who are being used by the enemy:
"To open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me."
(Acts 26:18; NIV)
