Ordinary Faithfulness
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” - Galatians 6:9
When I was a teenager, growing in my relationship with God, all I wanted was to do something “big” for Him. I wanted to change the world. Part of this desire was the overflow of a sincere love for the Lord, but part of it was the response to the language that was all around me—the need to see a huge move of God, the call to lay down your life and do something great for the kingdom, the urgency to make a difference.
The Overcoming Power of Testimony
Earlier this year, I listened to a message in which Chuck Pierce declared that 2015 would be “a year of your testimony exploding.” Scripture reveals the overcoming force inherent in our testimonies, so a prophetic word indicating that this is a season of power for these professions serves only to intensify their potential impact. Acting much like a magnifying glass, this declaration attracts and amplifies what God can do through testimony.
Choosing Courage
Several years ago, I was ministering in the Philippines. Part of our ministry took us on a catamaran to a nearby island. When we left, the tide was in, and we easily stepped from the dock onto the boat and sailed away. When we returned in the evening, the tide was out, and our boat sat about ten feet below the dock. Our only egress was a rickety ladder sitting precariously in the rocking boat. I don’t normally like to climb short, firmly grounded ladders, so I definitely was not comfortable with the thought of climbing this ladder.
Embracing Transitions & Change
If we are going to understand how to tap into the destiny of God for our lives, it is crucial to be able to cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He makes a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. God’s prayer warriors should be flexible for change as the Lord positions His army across the nations.
Overcoming Evil with Good
Before you watch the news or search the internet, or maybe just before you begin your day-to-day routines, it might be good to reflect on Paul’s words at the end of Romans 12. It is easy to be weighed down and discouraged by the struggles and very real horrors in the world. We can be paralyzed—so unsure of where to start or how to even address problems so big that we end up not doing much of anything.
Shipwrecked in Life
In recent days, there has been an increase of spiritual attacks on the body of Christ. The wake of this assault carries waves of hopelessness, despair and destruction. Truly, Satan is making a no-holds barred attempt to shipwreck the believers who are doing great damage to his kingdom, using many devices to try and completely sink the ship of vision God has given to individuals and ministries.
Creation's Never-Ending Worship
About ten years ago, I led a small group of teenagers on a ministry trip to Switzerland. We were there to work behind the scenes of a youth camp—helping with meals, service preparations and other tasks in order to free the leaders up for more interaction with their students.
Sacrificial Worship
All of heaven and earth cannot help but worship. It is the instinctive response and gut-reaction to beholding the glory of God. And some day, in heaven, worship will be our natural impulse because it is woven into the atmosphere of eternity. But while we are on earth, we have a unique opportunity to offer something we won’t be able to offer in heaven—the deliberate choice to worship, especially from a place of sacrifice.
Cindy's Word from the Lord on April 22
This morning, as I was praying, I had a vision, and in this vision, I saw a beautiful river and the body of Christ. And then I saw rapids, and it got bad. I mean, it was fast, and it was just like everywhere you looked, you didn't know if you could stay in control; you felt out of control. You felt like everything was rocky; you didn't know what to do.
Beyond the Songs: Everyday Worship
In almost any teaching or discussion about worship you can find, you will hear some variation of this statement: Worship isn’t just the songs we sing at church on Sundays; it’s a lifestyle. But what we do in our church services is so ingrained in us that it can be difficult to articulate more specifically what it would look like to actually live a life of worship.
Worshiping in Spirit
As a musician, I have been immersed in music most of my life. While I have been a church vocalist and instrumentalist since my early teens, I have also participated in musical performances outside of the church: 60s and 70s folk, country, rock & roll, and pop. I am amazed at how God is still working it all together for good in my life, and it is a joy to share some of that journey with you.
Partnering with the Holy Spirit's Leadership
A couple of months ago, I was having a night of worship at my house. Before everyone arrived, I asked God to show me what He would like to say that evening.
Entering His Gates
As Christians, we live in the tension of two realities every single day—the reality of the physical world in front of us and the reality of the unseen, spiritual world. We continually have to choose which one is going to influence our choices, actions and perspective. One of the significant things worship does is engage us in the battle to live by spiritual reality—the reality of who God is and what He says, as opposed to what it seems our circumstances or even other people are saying.
The Key to Your Turnaround
Prophetically, it is being declared that 2015 will bring divine reversals and turnaround in the midst of what may seem like a whirlwind year. According to the ACPE Word of the Lord for 2015, in the midst of the shakings and trials, worship is the key to seeing your release.
For the Love of His Presence
Absolutely nothing else has shaped my relationship with God the way worship has. I am not only referring to the songs we sing in our church services, although those are deeply significant to me. I am talking about the presence of God and the amazing dynamic that occurs when we adore Him and focus on all His goodness.
March Update
Hi! We wanted to give you a prophetic update on some things that are happening. Many people are experiencing turnarounds in this turnaround year. In fact, the news from Jerusalem after the Israeli elections, Netanyahu, was that it was a turnaround election. Very exciting.
Teaching Our Children to Pray
As a mother to two little treasures, one of the greatest desires of my heart is to see them develop their own relationships with God. Sometimes I joke that I wish I could just tell them, “You will love Jesus, and you will like it!” Well, we all know that’s not how it works.
Cindy's Word from the Lord on March 18
I just had a vision as we were worshipping of a door that seemingly shut and sealed. And then I saw a picture of a key, and on this key was written the word 'wisdom'.
Cindy's Word from the Lord on March 4
And the Lord would say, "Don't you know I have heard your cries in the night? For there is much tumult all around you. And there is so much swirling and so many decisions to make that you can't even seem to clear your mind and clear your heart to know which direction you should go. But I would say, I am coming to tell you exactly what to do.
Expanding Our Relational Circles
Our human nature seems to instinctively gravitate towards people who are similar to us—age, race, social status, family, interests, etc. There is nothing inherently wrong with this; a lot of comfort and encouragement comes from shared knowledge and experiences.
