Hurricane Harvey just struck the Gulf coast of Texas from Corpus Christi to Louisiana with devastating force and unprecedented flooding. One week after it first made landfall, the rains and flooding are just beginning to subside.

The battle over the next Supreme Court Justice has only begun with threats to delay the process and attempts to stop it already underway. Republican leadership hope to finalize the confirmation by Friday, April 7th.

As I was praying for the nation today, I had a vision of a swamp being drained. However, as it was emptying, there were a number of "swamp creatures" that became visible. There were alligators and poisonous snakes, among others.

The confirmation hearings for Neil Gorsuch, nominee for Supreme Court Justice, began this morning. Neil Gorsuch is a well-qualified judge who has an impeccable character, judicially and personally. Just as President Trump promised, he would be a Justice in the mold of Antonin Scalia.

There is an uprooting happening in the United States of America. It is spiritually important that ungodly roots that are plucked out are replaced with godly ones, quickly. When unrighteous strongholds are destroyed, the enemy will try to fill the void with plans that are even more ungodly.

The United States’ economy continues to be one of the strongest in the world. However, it was shaken hard in 2007-2008 and it has not fully recovered yet—10 years later. Government statistics have been adjusted to make it appear that we have fully recovered and that the jobless rate is low, but that is not quite the truth.

Every Administration makes decisions for the American public that affect our every day lives. Some end up to be very beneficial and long-lasting. Others, are quickly found to have been mistakes, and the next Administration quickly rolls them back. At times, technology and new ideology help us see that modifications to familiar legislation are in order. Such is the case in 2017.

Inauguration Day was the first day Cabinet members could be officially confirmed by the U. S. Senate. You can see a list of individuals both nominated by President Trump and those confirmed by the Senate here. Many of the hearings for confirmation took place just before the President was inaugurated.

A majority of his own party in the House of Representatives and in the Senate is a gift every incoming President hopes for. This majority can potentially make it easier for a President’s reasonable agenda items to become a reality relatively quickly. Of course there will be fights, but hopefully not within his own party. Disagreements with the other party are often easier to overcome, if there is unity between the majority party’s members and the President.

America’s election of Donald Trump was a shout from the people that they did not like the direction the country was going. It was also an answer to many years of intercession by a Church that was waking up and praying and voting.

The Inauguration is over and now the bold new administration can begin. However, today there will be a day or two of rest for President Trump and Vice President Pence.

Today, Donald J. Trump will be inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States of America. He will come into the presidency at a time of great division and moral conflict in this nation, and true danger in the nations of the earth. Many greet him with hope, some with trepidation and others with outright anger.

Today, many days of celebrations begin! Besides the Inauguration tomorrow, Inaugural Galas and Balls, the Inaugural Parade, the National Prayer Breakfast and many other festivities will mark the change of presidential administrations from President Barak Obama’s to President-elect Donald Trump’s.

The election of Donald Trump has stirred up a hornets’ nest of individuals upset that the nation has done an “about-face”. We are headed in a new direction—back to the Constitution, back to God-honoring principles that will benefit all, and forward in business expansion, choices for life, and protection against terrorism, among other things.

Beginning Tuesday, January 17th, Generals International and the Reformation Prayer Network will be joining together with many other ministries across the nation to cover President Trump's first 100 days in office. Some of those other organizations are the National Day of Prayer, Intercessors for America, Family Research Council, the International Prayer Connect, Harvest Evangelism. and America's National Prayer Committee.

Citizens from across the nation are beginning to arrive in Washington, D.C., for the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States of America. Leaders and others from many nations in the earth are arriving, as well. The question on everyone’s mind is, “Will I be safe at this high-profile event?” In this era of global terrorism and lone-gunmen, this is a significant question.

The Reformation Prayer Network has a focus each year based on what we are prophetically hearing from the Lord to be a major emphasis for our year. As I prayed about this next year’s prayer initiatives, I felt that Lord challenge me with this question, “Why are people praying about the strongman over every mountain (or sphere of society), such as government and media, and yet have never prayed about the strongholds of the issues pertaining to the family?”

On November 29th, we here at Generals International sent out a critical Shields Up alert about the need for prayer for the Electoral College. The Electors will vote from all 50 states for the President and Vice-President.

We are encouraging the intercessors of the nation to pray to keep the nation stabilized through December 19th.
